I recently went to a poultry auction with my 4yr old daughter who fell in love with two small "mutt bunnies". I
just couldn't say "NO" to her. I also couldn't forget how much I missed raising rabbits. So they came home with us.
My 8yr old son was wanting to join 4-H and rabbits would be great project for him. But, I remembered being told
as a kid in 4-H that I had to have "papered" rabbits in order to show them.
So I "hopped" on the net and began a search to try to find out what breed of bunnies we had and if there was a way to
paper them.
In my search I came across the Lionhead. I was so captivated by them that I forgot my "mutt bunny" search and started
to research Lionheads.
That is when I came across Little May's rabbitry.
Well I knew we had to have a Lionhead so in early April we purchased our first Lionhead a black buck, Little May's
Aries.
We are also getting our first does (one bred) on May 7th.
Right now I am going to consentrate on producing quality black lionheads.
I also want to work on the blues (as this is one of my favorite colors in the animal world).
